During Sports or any form of exercise, you can overuse some parts of your body and create an imbalance in the muscles. This can lead to poor performance or even injury.
Sports massage is effective in increasing blood flow, releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to your body, thus reducing the potential stresses on your joints, ligaments and tendons during exercise. It is also effective if you are just returning back to sports after a recent injury.
But, please don’t think Sports Massage is only for elite athletes, it is beneficial even if you are an amateur sports person or a recreational exerciser. It is good to have on a regular basis just to make sure your body is in optimal condition to cope with the stresses and strains of exercise.
